We are not big fans of guided tours coz they can be boring but our tour guide Giuseppe was very passionate and knowledgeable and explained everything in a fun way with his drawings on the ground and making little volcano shapes in the sand. It was good fun as well as learning a bit about the area. There were only 4 of us which made it even better and more personal. I would highly recommend 😊 read less

Great Etna Tour Great Tour, led by the very knowledgeable Giuseppe. Plenty of time at each of the stopping points. Learned a great deal about Etna and its history. Highly recommended!

Our guide Giuseppe shared so much information on the volcanoes. The more I learned about Mt. Etna, the safer I felt about being there. Meaning there are plenty of signals and time before you need to react to its type of eruptions. And learning our guide lives pretty close to it put me at ease also. I enjoyed the views of older lava flows and the stories of the more recent eruptions. The walk uphill is moderate and coming down Giuseppe was more then willing to assist anyone who needed more balance as we walked and slid a little down hill on the loose lava terrain. A walking stick may be preferable for some people. I would recommend this to everyone who wants to explore a part of the Earth that shows so much evidence of its power without getting too close to the top!

Ludovico texted me back very quickly confirming he would be able to do the tour on our requested date and time. I chose a tour which didn’t involve too much walking as I was recovering from a broken foot. Sebastian was our guide. Part of our tour was a visit to a magma cave which was a bit challenging but worth it. The view of Etna and the valley was awe inspiring and the sunset was amazing. Sebastian was a really good guide, very knowledgable and passionate about his job. We felt that this tour was perfect for us. Communication with us was very good and we were picked up near our hotel on time. read less

Even though the trip was full, Ludovico found another guide to take us. Giuseppe was an incredible guide, so knowledgeable and friendly who made the whole experience really interesting. I feel confident I can now explain all the different types of eruptions on Mt Etna!
We were so lucky, to go from full sun in Catania, to pouring rain in Zafferano, then the clouds cleared to give us wonderful views of Etna and a lovely sunset.
What a way to spend the afternoon and then get a top recommendation for dinner on top.
